Cat Got Your Tongue?

"Decided to look at some humans finally?" Ksenia asked her leopard as they made their way to Port Dumrstrang down from the school. The fully grown cat did not turn her head as she kept walking beside the young witch. Cleo has been spending most of her time recently in the forest instead of the school like she did when she was a cub. In a way in made sense, the leopard was too big to be kept inside all day long.

Some nice fresh away from all of the other bothersome students is what Ksenia needed at the moment.

Valec watched how Ksenia and some sort of weird looking creature went out the port to the little village and decided to follow after on a far distance, not wanting to see her after their last meeting. So he went after on a safe distance, enough for him to be able to save her, and enough for her to not see him.

Besides, if he got near her, only Merlin knew what could happen. Not that he couldn't figure it out himself.

Ksenia walked at a leisurely pace down to the village, knowing that Valec would be somewhere close though never bothering to look for him. Cleo on the other hand, did not take very long to figure out that they were being followed. The leopard turned around to face Valec, growling slightly at him. He was another predator, that the cat could understand. Though it wasn't unusal for her Mistress to have predators around her.

Ksenia turned her head slightly, looking at what caused her familiar's distress. "Its okay, Cleo," she soothed the leopard, running her hand over the top of her head. "He won't hurt us. Besides, he is a coward anyway. There is nothing to worry about," she said as they continued their walk.

He stared back at the black yellow thing, before shaking his head and continuing to follow them. ''Ugly little beast.'' Val muttered as he followed them into the village. It would have been simple to take out his gun and shoot it, not that he ever would seeing how attached it was to Ksenia. But the thought were neverless amusing.

A coward? He was not a coward, infact brave, malificent or even too awesome too exist would fit much better. Coward, pft, he thought. He was not the one in need of a bloody saviour, protector or whatnot. Silly person.

Why he was in Russia? Well, one could only spend so much time at home (it still felt weird to call Ninette's house home) and he desperately needed a change of scenery. Glancing around, he hummed softly, not having the slightest idea what anyone was saying.

If only everyone spoke French. The world would be such a nicer place. Grinning to himself, he continued on his way.

But something made him stop in his tracks. Squinting to get a better look, he tilted his head. Was that a - shuffling closer to investigate, he soon found himself in front of the cat and its owner. "Wow," he breathed, hoping the girl understood English, his French accent noticeable in every word he said as looked from the leopard to the girl, "that is one cool cat." Giving the girl a friendly smile, he added, "It must take a pretty special girl to control -" he paused, tilting his head. "Him? Her?"

Ksenia stopped as a boy her own age approached her. "Well thank you," she smiled at him, speaking in fluent English. It was after all her first language, though not many people knew that fact. "This is Cleo," she said as she stroked the leopards head, while the cat herself just looked at the newcomer, studying him.

Normally the Slushatel wouldn't have even stopped to say a word if she was approached like this, but with her current situation with Valec this foreigner came just in time. "What brins a wizard like yourself to Russia?" she asked him. Yes, this was going to be perfect.

"You're welcome," he said with a slight nod of his head. Glancing down at the leopard - Cleo - he gave her a little wave, "Well, hello Cleo." He was talking to a leopard. Why in the world was he talking to a leopard? Glancing back at the girl, he couldn't help but note her attractiveness. And he could never just walk away from a hot girl.

"Oh, nothing really," he shrugged, "Some of the people back home can be just so boring. So I came here to find someone who can entertain me."
